About Us
Matvision develops intelligent sorting systems that help recyclers identify and separate complex materials, and turn research into machines that run in production.
What we are trying to do
Metals are infinitely recyclable, and a large share of them still leaves the plant in fractions worth less than the sum of what is in them. Every category a line can separate is a category a buyer will price on its own. That is the whole objective: not to replace the machines already in the hall, but to work on what they leave behind.

Our journey
Born from the GeMMe laboratory at the University of Liège, Matvision turns years of materials research into sorting technology built for the recycling line.
Before 2015
Research into material identification and advanced sensing lays the groundwork for a new approach to sorting complex streams.
MultiPick
Industrialisation on Groupe Comet’s MultiPick line brings sensors, AI and robotics together under real production conditions.
2023
We create the spin-off to bring this technology to recyclers. That same year, Matvision takes first place in the Raw Materials category of EIT Jumpstarter in Athens.
What’s next
We continue developing the technology through European collaborative R&D projects, expanding the materials we can identify and the separations we can deliver.
Our ambition
Where we are taking the company, for an impact that can be measured and that lasts.
Sorted on Matvision machines by 2032. Every line installed and every performance study that confirms its numbers moves that closer, one project at a time.
We work on the residual streams that existing equipment cannot split further. Many of them are still sorted by hand, or exported for want of a local solution, and that is where a sensor-based line changes the most.
Models, sensors, robotics, mechanics and industrialisation, under one roof, with research running alongside so the technology keeps moving rather than catching up.
Machines designed, built and supported here, with engineers and technicians from a region whose industrial know-how has every reason to serve this work.

Our machines read a piece on several layers at once. We pointed the method at ourselves. Hover over a person, or select their name.

Open positions: none at the moment.
That will change, because the work is growing faster than the team. If you work on sensors, machine learning, robotics or mechanical design, and complex material streams are the kind of problem you want, write to us anyway. A good profile that arrives before the position exists is how most of this team was hired.
